Le Caprice New York - 795 Fifth Avenue New York NY 10065

High-net-worth residents of NYC's Upper East Side have a restaurant worthy of the stylish power lunch once again, thanks to London export Le Caprice.
Blink twice and you'll probably have missed Manhattan's latest culinary sensation, as tony restaurants open and close here as quickly as the residents change their minds about their president (yup, that just happened again). Fews are built to last. Which is good news for Le Capirce, which opened in here at the end of last year and will probably still be full of contented customers by the time we all slip off this mortal coil.
Le Caprice, the classic London luncheon spot, is officially New York's hottest new restaurant. Keith McNally's Minetta Tavern down in the Village may have captured the heart of Downtown, but if you're "up" (it's opposite Central Park, on the east side, obviously) and hot-to-trot and you left your apartment looking more Fred Astaire than Fred Segal, then there is simply nowhere else to eat.
The menu will be familiar to regulars at the Arlington Street restaurant - yellow-fin tuna with spiced lentil salsa and argula; crispy duck and watercress salad - although the portions are designed for comfort, not speed. The room here is one of the most elegant in the city, mirroring London with its Baily prints on the wall, a dark, sexy bar and a timeless black and white theme, which encourages you to take this Manhattan outpost seriously, and treat it with respect.
Of course, the question all potential patrons ask concerns the location of the best table, and that's simple. As you enter from the Pierre Hotel, in which Le Caprice is located, it's in front of you, on your right, with the banquette. If you're not sitting there, you may as well be sitting on the sidewalk outside.
